Sample Rates and Recording Process

I record at 16 bit 44.1 wav.

I edit everything in wav. Then export the finished file as an mp3 file.

Recording at a higher bit rate will give you better audio, but one must remember this will eventually be listened to in earbuds and car stereos, and you need to consider if the file size that the additional bit rate adds to the file size is worth it.

If you're audio will be used with a video project use the sample rate of 48K.

The traditional setting is 16 bit 44.1

You can set the same rate in Audacity (a popular software) in the bottom right-hand corner
