My Episode Was There and Now It's Gone

In many apps, there are settings to have your episode deleted after you finish the episode.

Under settings, there is an option to have Apple Podcasts delete the episode when you finish the episode.

This creates a "Hey where did it go" situation if you're not aware that is turned on.

Click on Settings

So it may not be that your episode disappearing is a problem, but more the phone is helping you clean up old podcast episodes.
